This smells like East German children's toothpaste and tastes like Goober Grape that fell in a hamster cage - you know, with dirty cedar shavings stuck to it.
Guess I'll be giving it a miss. Mind you, I am tempted to source a bottle just to get a firmer idea on the wine descriptors "Goober Grape" and "hamster cage" :)
I don't think they sell Goober Grape in Australia; it's a peculiar grape jelly and peanut butter swirled product that taste, well, grapey with a hint of peanut dust.
As for hamster cage, well, mataro can smell kind of earthy and gamey, and there seemed to be a heck of a lot of oak on this puppy, so I reckon that fits. :)
It really isn't a bad wine, just kind of predictable.
So... you didn't like it?
;)
